Rise In Police Complaints In Parts Of The East Midlands


Nottinghamshire police have told capital that they have been working hard to make it easier for people to complain.

Its after it was revealed that complaints about the police in England and Wales have reached a 10 year high.

Nottinghamshire had the 3rd biggest increase across the country.

In Leicestershire complaints have increased 46 percent.

Across Derbyshire the number of police complaints actually went down.

Candlelit Vigil For Leicestershire Student

A candlelit vigil is being held later at in a Leicestershire village for a student who died after a night out in Durham.

19-year-old Euan Coulthard's body was pulled from the River Wear a week ago.

He was studying law at Durham University. 

Tonight St Mary's Church in Bottesford is holding a service for the community to remember him.

His family say they are "eternally grateful" to a civilian diver who got into the river to recover his body. 

Mansfield Man Jailed For Attempted Rape 

A Nottinghamshire man has been jailed for five years for attempting to rape a woman in her own home and steal her belongings.

Aziz Achab, 31, of Birding Street, Mansfield, met his victim on a night out in August.

He followed her home and tried to attack her.

Nottingham Crown Court heard, while Achab was still in the property, the victim left and reported the incident to a neighbour who called police.
