Notts Woman Banned from Keeping Animals

Victim, 21-year-old Laura Holmes, has told Capital she still hasn't been able to have a photo with her 15-week-old-son because of her scars.

49-year-old Tracie Taylor pleaded guilty to allowing her dog to be dangerously out of control, it's since been put down.

Afraid of scaring children

Laura was attacked by her friend's American Akita in the Meadows in May and says she gets worried when she goes out now:

'I couldn't look myself in the mirror for weeks afterwards, when I eventually forced myself I just wanted to crawl into bed not get up again.

'It’s hard going outside because people stare at me and jump to conclusions. I’m really conscious about not scaring children.'

Dogs Legislation Officer PC Steve Feary told Capital:

'I believe this is the first conviction of its kind for Nottinghamshire since the change to the dog laws earlier this year. It is one of the first for the country.'
