New Anti-Social Behaviour Powers In Mansfield

Police in Mansfield are getting new powers to move people out of the town centre for antisocial behaviour.

For six months officers are going kick people who're being rowdy out for 24 hours or arrest them.

It's after the number of reports of violence and disorderly behaviour has increased since 2013.

Road Deaths Fall In Nottinghamshire

The number of people killed or seriously injured on Nottinghamshire's roads has been fallen so fast it's the best county in the country.

The figures from the Institute of Advanced Motorist says there were  98 fewer people involved in collisions than in 2013.

People return home after an evacuation in part of Derbyshire

Up to 200 people evacuated in Derbyshire, so police could carry out a series of controlled explosions in a nearby flat, have been let back home.

They cordoned off the area in Newhall following the discovery of so-called 'potentially volatile' substances.

A 55-year-old man from Newhall has been charged with three offences following his arrest on Saturday.

Glenn Robinson of Belvoir Crescent in Newhall has been charged with one offence under Section 2 of the Explosive Substances Act 1883 (cause an explosion likely to endanger life), one offence under Section 4 of the same act (make an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose) and the production of cannabis.

He is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today.


Murder investigation in Nottingham
A murder inquiry has started in Nottingham after a man died following an assault yesterday morning.

Officers were called to Bestwood Park Drive in Rise Park at 2am, where they found the victim with serious injuries.

He was taken to the QMC where he later died.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.


M1 reopens after 9 hours
Part of the M1 in Leicestershire was shut for more than 8 hours yesterday after a crash between a lorry and three cars.

A woman died and two others are in a serious condition in hospital after the collision near junction 21A.

The Leicestershire-Derbyshire cricket match at Grace Road had to be slighlty delayed as some of the players were stuck in traffic.
