A man's been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to sex offence charges - following a police investigation into abuse at child care homes in Nottingham.

Ivan Bethell who's 61 and from Wembley in London is now due to stand trial in March.

In total he's charged with 10 different indecent acts relating to the same female victim.

Man Charged After Lady Bay Bridge Closure

A man's been charged with having a knife on him - following the closure of Lady Bay Bridge in Nottingham yesterday.

28-year-old Shane Baldwin was due at the city's magistrates court today.

He was arrested on the bridge yesterday - it reopened at around 11 this morning.

Prince William Gives MBE to Derbyshire 'Poppies' Artist

Prince William has given an MBE to Derby Uni graduate Paul Cummins who designed the ceramic poppies outside the Tower of London.

Millions of people went to see the art instillation, to mark 100 years since the start of WW1.

Ilkeston Man Jailed After Being Found With Heroin

A Derbyshire man's been jailed for after officers caught him trying to dump wraps of heroin.

54 year old Neil Fowkes from Ilkeston pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply, he's got four and a half years in jail.

Nottingham Tram Disruption Is Worse Than Expected

The Transport Minister says the disruption caused by tram works in Nottingham is much worse than predicted.

Patrick McLoughlin, who's also a Derbyshire MP, told Capital he wants to make sure lessons are learnt.

Councillor Jane Urquhart, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Transportation at Nottingham City Council, said: "We are already required to work with Government on lessons learned and it's something we're already doing."

Assault Charge Dropped Against Nottingham Forest Player

Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles says his "name has been cleared" after an assault charge against him was dropped.

After looking at CCTV, prosecutors decided to stop the investigation.

The 21-year-old had been accused of causing actual bodily harm at a bar in Derby.
