Macaulay Culkin's band were booed off stage in Nottingham over the weekend.

The Pizza Underground had pints of beer thrown at them before finishing their set early at Rock City on Sunday night.

It was all part of the Dot-to-Dot festival.

The band sell themselves as comedy rock band, parodying songs to include pizza toppings, while using pizza boxes as drums.

But it didn't go down well as his 45 minute set got cut down to just 15 minutes. Culkin's band had played gigs in Manchester and Bristol on Friday and Saturday night and also got a similar reaction there.

Capital spoke to some of the crowd at Rock City:

Louise from Nottingham: "We were all pretty excited to see him and his "Home Alone" face, but disappointingly the band turned out to be quite rubbish. The crowd reacted negatively and then Culkin started sulking but that egged the crowd on to boo even more, and then it all got out of hand. Even the free pizza couldn't stave off the crowd, it's a big fall from Kevin Mcallister and Richie Rich.

Tom from Nottingham: " As we were heading in, loads of people were all ready leaving and moaning about the Pizza Underground. When we got there about 5 minutes in the crowd were already quite hostile and a lot of beer was thrown."

Organisers of Dot-to Dot released this statement.

"After barnstorming sets at both Dot To Dot Manchester and Dot To Dot Bristol, it's such a shame that some members of the crowd had to ruin what was set to be an excellent show. A sentiment echoed by the band themselves. Hopefully they'll get to play in Nottingham again one day soon."
