Capital's been told we could be coming into contact with victims of human trafficking every morning when we head to work or college.

Crimestoppers think there could be hundreds more victims of human trafficking in the East Midlands, not just the 155 authorities already know about.

Vicious and Brutal Crime

The charity says victims aren't just made to work in restaurants and bars but people's homes too, Pauline Hadley is the Regional Manager for Crimestoppers and told Capital:

'This is vicious and brutal crime which involves the exploitation of vulnerable people.

'Victims are often hidden from view, working in private houses, hospitality, farming, manufacturing and construction industries.

'Many live in horrendous conditions and are forced to comply with threats and violence.'
