Body Found In Birmingham Canal

Police have been called after a body was found in a canal in Birmingham.

This morning officers cordoned off part of a canal towpath after what is believed to be human remains were recovered from the water yesterday.
 
Officers were called just before 4pm yesterday to reports of a body found in the water off Icknield Port Road in Ladywood.

The remains will be examined by forensic experts later today.

A cordon has been put in place whilst enquiries continue.
 
DI Harry Harrison, who is leading the investigation said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing to examine the remains and we would like to hear from anyone who may have information about this to contact officers in Force CID at Harborne on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
