Birmingham Mum Charged After Her Son Dies From Methadone Poisoning

A woman from Birmingham whose two year-old son died from methadone poisoning has been charged over his death.

32 year-old Kelly Emery of Gravelly Hill, Erdington, was arrested in February and has been charged with manslaughter and child cruelty.

Fenton Hogan died after he was found collapsed at his home in Frankley, Worcestershire, in July last year.

A post mortem examination revealed the heroin substitute had caused his death.

His mother has been remanded into custody and is due before Birmingham magistrates this morning (10 September).
