Business leaders in the West Midlands have told Capital if Donald Trump visits Birmingham it would be a great opportunity.

John Lamb from Birmingham Chamber of Commerce was speaking to us after reports that the US president may be planning a rally at the NEC in Birmingham during his state visit to Britain in the summer.

After hearing the news Liam Byrne, MP for Hodge Hill, set up a petition to "Ban Trump from Birmingham".

The NEC and West Midlands Police have both told Capital that they have NOT been approached about a visit from the president.

Students in Birmingham are planning to hold a Stand up to Trump rally in Victoria Square from 5pm this evening.
