Will.i.am Moves His Record Label To The UK: "I Like This Place, It's Fresh!"

The 'Scream & Shout' star says he is 'thinking global and acting local" by moving his label across the pond.

Will.i.am has confirmed that his record label, will.i.am Music Group, is moving to the UK.

The '#ThatPower' rapper's label represents the likes of Fergie and LMFAO, as well as Cheryl Cole during her push in the US.

"My label is now based in the UK," will.i.am revealed to Jon Hornbuckle recently. "I had a label over in America, Fergie signed to my label and LMFAO and Macy Gray and Black Eyed Peas and I thought, you know what, I want to base my label out in the UK, because I like this place, it's fresh.

When asked about the move he added: "Why was I making music in America when it succeeds first in the UK? That's dumb. I've got a global perspective, thinking global and acting local."

The 'Bang Bang' star also recently revealed that he has recorded a "heart-melting" song with The Voice UK finalist Leah McFall, who he mentored during the latest series of the TV talent show.

Will.i.am returned with his new album '#willpower' earlier this year.
