Will.i.am has paid tribute to the "human genius" on display at Nasa after the space agency successfully landed a new robot rover on Mars.
The Black Eyed Peas star was at mission control at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California as the rover touched down in the early hours of this morning (6th August).
Will.i.am kept his Twitter followers up to date with every development during the landing and also tweeted pictures from mission control.
"I'm here @ #jpl...I am proud to care and have passion for #stem...watching humanity at its finest..." Will.i.am wrote.
In one of his pictures, Will can be seen posing with Dave Lavery – one of the people responsible for building the rover, nicknamed Curiosity.
