Usher song 'stolen' claims songwriter

Usher is at the centre of a lawsuit from a student songwriter.

MTV reports that Kameron Glasper is claiming he was cheated out of royalities for the 'Raymond V Raymond' track 'Monstar'.

Kameron says that he wrote the song and sold it as part of a 10-track deal to Legendary Poets Music Publishing. In his lawsuit he says the publishing company 'took advantage' of his age and inexperience, tricking him into signing away half his rights to the tune.

Seven people are listed as co-writers on 'Monstar', none of them Kameron.

He is seeking compensation and legal costs.
