The 'Climax' singer has been writing for the follow-up to his 2012 record 'Looking For Myself'.

Usher has promised fans his new album will be "everything you can imagine", while continuing to work on the record over the course of this year.

The 'Scream' singer is currently writing and recording for his eighth studio album, the follow-up to last year's 'Looking For Myself', and gave fans their first hint at what to expect during a live performance at SXSW Festival this past week.

"It's gonna be freaking out of here man," Usher revealed during a Fader interview at the music industry event. "Space and sky, that's what it'll be.

"You look up, and it's everything you can imagine," the 'Scream' singer explained, before promising that he has been exploring new sounds from around the world for his next record.

While no release date for Usher's new album has been hinted at or announced, the 'Lemme See' singer did debut a brand new song last month to whet fans' appetites.

The R&B star released a new song called 'Go Missin' in February just in time for Valentine's Day, which saw him reunite with his 'Climax' collaborator Diplo.

Usher is currently serving as one of the new vocal coaches on season four of The Voice US.
