The N-Dubz star and mentor felt "bad" about the outcome, according to the 16-year-old singing hopeful.

Ella Henderson has said The X Factor judge and her mentor Tulisa Contostavlos feels "to blame" for her exit from the show.

The 16-year-old star, who was one of the favourites to win this year's series, was eliminated after coming in the bottom two on Sunday night (18th November).

The surprise decision angered Tulisa, who had already seen her other contestants leave the programme.

"I think she felt like she was to blame. I was her last remaining girl and she threw everything into me. She just felt bad on my behalf," Ella told The Sun.

Meanwhile, a source described Ella's departure as The X Factor boss Simon Cowell's "worst nightmare". He has already expressed his surprise at the school girl's shock departure at the weekend on Twitter.

Following Ella's departure, Tulisa has said she will back remaining favourites James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas to win this year's series of The X Factor UK.

"I love [James and Jahmene] both just the same, I hope either of them win," she revealed. "I am going to be pushing the acts I want now, to get as far as they possibly can."
