The 'Lightning' singers are heading back to Los Angeles ready for their American Idol appearance.

The Wanted have issued a thanks to their fans in Canada after enjoying an "amazing" promotional trip there this week, ahead of their return to California ready to perform live on American Idol.

The 'Glad You Came' singers arrived in Canada over the weekend as part of their current jaunt across North America, and have told fans they can't wait to be back there one day soon.

"Canada. Thank you for an amazing last couple of days," The Wanted tweeted last night (3rd April). "Never thought we'd be this far from home yet feel so welcomed. You've been amazing x."

Band member Max George also posted a personal message to all of his followers describing the visit as a "top trip" and promised to return to the country in the near future.

"Huuuuge thanks to all our amazing Canadian fans...really was a top trip... Can't wait to be back! X" Max posted.

"Leaving Canada for LA! Today was belting, hung out with so many cool fans and now plane-beers are a-callin'!" fellow 'Warzone' singer Jay McGuiness also tweeted.

The five-piece band released 'Lightning' as their next promotional North American release this week, following the success of 'Glad You Came' and 'Gold Forever', ahead of launching their debut US EP 'The Wanted' later this month.

The Wanted have now returned to Los Angeles ahead of their scheduled performance on American Idol tomorrow (5th April).
