Taylor Swift Calls Selena Gomez "Closest Thing I've Had To A Sister" In Birthday Message

The '22' singer wished the female star a happy 21st as she posted an adorable picture of the pair on Twitter.

Taylor Swift was among the stars wishing Selena Gomez a happy birthday yesterday (22^nd July).

The 'Come And Get It' singer turned 21 and was called "the closes thing I've ever had to a sister" by the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer.

Alongside her message, the country star also posted a picture of the pair posing alongside a mermaid statue.

The stars have been close friends for years and it was recently claimed Taylor was helping to set up newly single Selena with her touring support act Austin Mahone.

Taylor is currently on the road with her 'Red' world tour – joined also on the jaunt by British star Ed Sheeran.

The singer has also been teasing details of her next studio album and said this month that the "floodgates just opened" when referring to writing new material.
