The '22' singer's comments are widely rumoured to have been aimed at the One Direction star.

Taylor Swift seemingly made a dig at former boyfriend Harry Styles at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 while accepting her award on stage.

The 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together star enjoyed a short romance with the One Direction star towards the end of 2012 before the pair split earlier this year.

Taylor has now seemingly "thanked" Harry while picking up the award for Best Female Video for her song 'I Knew You Were Trouble', believed to have been written about her break-up with the boy band star.

"I want to thank the fans because I tweeted about this a lot, I really wanted this," Taylor said during her acceptance speech, before adding: "I also want to thank the person who inspired the song because he knows exactly who he is, because now I've got one of these!"

The MTV VMAs 2013 broadcast then quickly panned to a close-up of the One Direction star looking awkward alongside his bandmates in the audience.

The '22' singer also made headlines after she was reportedly filmed mouthing the words "shut the f**k up" during a segment where Harry and One Direction were presenting an award.
