Shakira hits the billion

Shakira has hit a billion views on YouTube.

On her own website Shakira said, Thank you all for this magnificent news. A billion views!! Incredible! I'm celebrating!!

The views were gathered across Shakira's three official YouTube channels with the Spanish and English versions of the video for last year's World Cup anthem, Waka Waka, accounting for more than 300 million of the views.

"I'm really happy to hear the news," said Shakira. "One billion views around the world is an unthinkable number and more than I could ever have dreamed of."

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have also landed a billion views on the site.
