Rihanna Makes Final Worldwide Act Shortlist For MTV EMAs 2012

The 'Where Have You Been' singer will compete against four other acts from across the world in the category.

Rihanna is among the final five acts shortlisted for the Worldwide Prize at next month's MTV Europe Music Awards 2012 (EMAs).

The 'We Found Love' singer will represent the region of North America in the final vote between the last five acts, which have been voted for from a shortlist of 160 artists from across the world.

Rihanna will now compete against Eurovision winner Dima Bilan representing Europe, Restart for Latin America, Han Geng for the region of Asia Pacific and Ahmen Soultan representing Africa, India and the Middle East.

The final round of voting for the MTV EMAs Worldwide category began yesterday (30th November) and fans have up until the 9th November to place their vote for who should be the ultimate winner of the award.

UK boy band One Direction were previously voted the Best UK/Ireland Act in the first round of voting but have failed to secure a position in the final five to represent Europe as a whole.

Rihanna is currently putting the final touches to her brand new album 'Unapologetic', which is due to officially drop on 19th November and follows lead single 'Diamonds' at the end of September.
