The 'We Found Love' singer apologised to fans fo being late after her staging was held for a search at the border.

Rihanna arrived on stage over an hour late for her 'Diamonds' tour show in Winnipeg this week after her production trucks were stopped at the Canadian border.

The 'Stay' singer tweeted fans to apologise for the delay on Monday (25th March), after the trucks carrying her staging set-up were stopped and searched, leading to the delay.

"They held my trucks at the border!!" Rihanna tweeted. "This is not a good look for Winnipeg! My stage is in those trucks, disassembled! #DiamondsWorldTour.

"This means, the entire production could potentially start at a later time #staytuned #WINNIPEG," the Bajan pop star explained, before later adding: "My bus and I are at the venue! Still no trucks!!! #tourlife #WINNIPEG."

While Rihanna's production lorries did eventually arrive at the Winnipeg MTS centre to set up for the 'Diamonds' tour show, the delay meant Rihanna was forced to take to the stage around 90 minutes later than expected.

The delay comes fresh from Rihanna being four hours late to a charity gig this past weekend after getting struck in traffic.

Rihanna is set to air a TV special in the US in May featuring footage from her '777' mini-tour towards the end of 2012.
