The 'What's My Name?' singer describes her role in the sci-fi film as a "really cool character".
Rihanna says her character in upcoming action film Battleship somewhat echoes her own life because she is just "one of the guys", and has also revealed the film has inspired her to seek out more acting roles.
The 'We Found Love' singer called the experience of filming the big-budget sci-fi epic "super fun" and praised both the writing and concept behind her character, a female weapons officer named Raikes.
"I got to play a really cool character," Rihanna told Access Hollywood. "She's one of the guys, which is kind of a little close to my real lifestyle.
The 'You da One' singer also commented on her co-star Brooklyn Decker, one of the only other women featured in the movie, and admitted the actress plays the real "beauty" of the film.
"She's a complete feminine beauty, she's the beauty in the movie," Rihanna said. "She's so beautiful, and every time they go to me I'm just one of the guys. So I don't really compare with her. She's stunning."
Rihanna also spoke out about her sense of style and fashion and claims that, despite reports to the contrary, she doesn't chose what to wear in an effort cause controversy.
Battleship is due to be released in cinemas on 18th May.
