One Direction's Niall Horan Thanks Fans After 'Live While We're Young' Breaks US Records

The 'One Thing' stars' new US single has become the fastest-selling release by a UK artist in America.

One Direction star Niall Horan says the band is "so happy" with their huge success in America with their new single 'Live While We're Young', which has already broken records since its release stateside.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' five-piece's brand new single has broken the record for the fastest selling single in the USA by a UK artist, after selling 341,000 copies in just one week.

"We're so happy with the success of the single in the USA and can't wait for everyone to hear our new album," Niall Horan said, after hearing the news. "Thank you to all the fans once again!"

'Live While We're Young' is already number one on the US Digital Track and Digital Songs Chart, and is notable for achieving the highest opening weeks sales for a song ever by an artist outside of America.

After unveiling the music video for 'Live While We're Young' last month One Direction achieved the highest number of views on VEVO in 24 hours, breaking Justin Bieber's previous record for 'Boyfriend'.

Last week Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik gave fans to see behind the scenes on the music video in a special documentary video.

The nominations for this year's American Music Awards were announced today (10th October) and saw One Direction score three nods in total, across Favourite Album, Favourite Band and New Artist Of The Year.

One Direction are now preparing to launch their second studio album 'Take Me Home' in the UK on 12th November.
