One Direction's Niall Horan Shows Support To "Heroic" Irish Olympics Boxer Katie Taylor

The 'Gotta Be You' star calls the London 2012 star "unbelievable" following today's victory.

One Direction singer Niall Horan has revealed how "heroic" he found London 2012 Olympics boxer Katie Taylor's performance today (6th August).

The Irish athlete faced Great Britain's Natasha Jones in the Women's Lightweight quarter final match today and her victory came with great praise from the 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer.

Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: "katie taylor is unbelievable.."

He added: "she is the best female boxer on the planet! doesn't know what its like to lose...heroic performance...cmon Ireland," before adding: "26-15 katie taylor you are a legend! irish boxing is on fire."

The boy band star was also in attendance for John Joe Nevin's match at the Olympics yesterday after admitting he ran 1.5 km to make it to the venue.

Band mate Harry Styles also lead the tributes to Great Britain's Jessica Ennis after he triumph in the Heptathlon event at the weekend.

Meanwhile, One Direction are currently working on their new album and Niall, along with Liam Payne, were recently spotted busking outside a store in the Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush last week.
