The 'Little Things' star was convinced to show off his moves in front of the awards show audience.

One Direction's Harry Styles got the entire audience at the Teen Choice Awards 2013 up and dancing when he gave an impromptu showing of his twerking skills.

The 'Live While We're Young' singer was convinced to try his hand at the popular dance craze during segment with hosts Darren Criss and Lucy Hale, after both Ed Sheeran and Harry's bandmate Zayn Malik declined to show off their own moves.

Within minutes of Harry's three-second twerk the hashtag #HarryDroppedThatThunThunThun was trending round the world, although he later seemed to regret his decision when he tweeted: "Note to self. Don't 'twerk'."

The event also marked the end of the band's North American leg of their 'Take Me Home' world tour, and Harry took to Twitter on Sunday to thank everyone who played a part in the show.

"Thank you to every member of our crew, the shows don't happen without you," he tweeted. "And the bits in between wouldn't be as funny. Thank you."
