The 'Little Things' star says it would by "hypocritical" of him to be upset at the possibility of a track emerging.
One Direction star Harry Styles has said that he is expecting ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift to write a song about him.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' star told Us Weekly that he has no issues with the idea and wouldn't have avoided dating her for someone less famous.
"It would be hypocritical for me to say she couldn't do it because everybody writes songs based on personal experience," the 19 year-old singer revealed. "I can't say I'd have dated someone less famous to avoid it."
The singer also joked that he wasn't worried about becoming the source of inspiration for new material.
He said: "At least she's a great songwriter!"
The pair split at the start of 2013 following a Caribbean break together.
Harry has kept quiet on the reasons for the split with Taylor and has been linked to a host of females since.
The star also told the publication what he is looking for in a potential future girlfriend.
"Someone with a cute laugh and a good smile," he said. "Someone you can have fun with - I like someone who's up for doing stuff in terms of like, trying new things and going out new places. Not just someone who does nothing and wants to sit around."
Meanwhile, Harry's bandmate Zayn Malik is set to marry Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards after the pair became engaged this weekend.
One Direction were in London to launch their This Is Us movie at London's Leicester Square.
