One Direction On Their Huge Success In America: "It's Just Mind-Blowing"

The 'One Thing' stars say they never thought they would have the chance to tour across the US.

One Direction have admitted they still can't believe the "mind-blowing" success they have had in America since heading over to the US earlier this year.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars headed stateside on their 'Up All Night' tour back in May, and wrapped their first headlining jaunt across the country on Sunday evening (1st July) with a show in Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were then pictured preparing to fly out of Miami at the start of this week to head back home to the UK for some time off after their mammoth tour.

"To be honest if you had said to us a year ago, and this sounds so cliche, if you had said to us a year ago that we were gonna be touring America, we would absolutely have fell on the ground laughing at you," One Direction star Niall Horan revealed to MTV News this week. "Obviously when the record label wanted to send us to America just to see how it would go, no one, not even them, had an idea of how it was going to go."

Niall said the fact the band's next world tour, which kicks off in the UK in February next year, is already close to selling out is still hard for them to believe.

"So to think that we're going on a world tour next year and about 85 percent of it is sold-out already is just mind-blowing," the 'One Thing' singer admitted.

This week also marked a new Twitter milestone for Harry Styles, who became the first member of the five-piece band to reach over five million followers on the popular social networking site.

The 'Gotta Be You' stars have been spending time in the recording studio during their stay in America and have teased the potential for a brand new single within the next few months.

One Direction's new world tour kicks off at London's O2 Arena on 22nd February 2013 before heading back to America in June next year.
