The 'Troublemaker' singer admits he didn't want to get involved with any fallout from the relationship break-up.

Olly Murs has confessed that he was impressed with how his Xtra Factor co-host Caroline Flack handled the fallout from her relationship split with One Direction man Harry Styles.

The 32 year-old TV host's romantic involvement with the 'One Thing' star came under fire by many, including the group's fans.

"Obviously, there have been stories about her she hasn't liked and she can always confide in me. I care a lot about her," he told New! magazine. "She's a lovely girl and sometimes you can't help who you fall for.

"It was not a nice time for her but I think she handled it really well."

The former X Factor star admitted he is close friends with Caroline and will always be there in her time of need.

"We just get on really, really well and I'm always there for her if she needs me. If she ever has any problems or if she's upset," he confessed.

The 'Dance With Me Tonight' singer is also close with the One Direction man, and was touring with the band in the US at the time the break-up emerged.

"It was a tough time for her but I'm friends with Harry as well and I didn't want to get involved in it too much," he added.

The 'Heart Skips A Beat' singer also admitted that although he thinks a One Direction return to the Xtra Factor may be a little awkward, he's sure that Caroline would be fine.

"Of course it would be a little bit difficult but I'm sure Caroline would be fine," he decalred. "She's very thick-skinned and I'm sure she and Harry have spoken since their split."

The singer has long been linked to a relationship with Caroline himself, with the TV host telling Capital earlier this year that even her mum want's the pair to get together.

"We still flirt a lot anyway but it never got to the point of us kissing or going out," he said. "And obviously Harry was dating her at the time anyway!"

Meanwhile, Olly is currently preparing for the release of his new Flo Rida featuring single 'Troublemaker' and third album 'Right Place, Right Time' at the end of the year.
