Nicole Scherzinger "Selfish And Ruthless" Says Cowell

Her fellow X Factor judge pays the 'Wet' singer an odd compliment.

Simon Cowell has described Nicole Scherzinger as "selfish and ruthless" and says that's why he admires her.

"I think you've proven there's nothing wrong with being selfish," Simon told Nic at The X Factor launch.

"You are somebody I've admired, who has ruthlessly succeeded in their career even when you left the Pussycat girls behind.

"And there's nothing wrong with that because it's about ambition."

Nic bagged Cheryl Cole's spot on the judging panel despite originally being lined up to present the show with Steve Jones.

And Nic doesn't disagree with Simon's observations, claiming her success is down to her drive.

"It takes a certain breed to survive in this business," Nic shared.

"You have to be a fighter. Nobody else is going to do it for you."
