Nicki Minaj "Still In Shock" After American Music Awards Wins

The 'Fly' rapper says she still can't believe she picked up two awards at last night's ceremony in Los Angeles.

Nicki Minaj gave an emotional acceptance speech at the American Music Awards last night (20^th November) after beating out industry heavyweights Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne to pick up two awards.

The ‘Super Bass’ rapper won both Favourite Rap/Hip Hop Artist and Favourite Rap/Hip Hop Album for her 2010 debut release ‘Pink Friday’.

“Oh my god you guys, there’s so much love in this room,” Nicki told the audience at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

“I didn’t think I was going to win it,” she admitted. “Love yourself no matter what. There’s power in your peace.”

 The ‘Fly’ rapper later gave a personal shout out to all her fans on Twitter after admitting she was still in shock at her awards victory.

 “I’m still in shock. The audience was so DOPE!!!” Nicki tweeted. “My barbz & I have come such a long way. 2 AMA’s??? God is good right barbz???”

Nicki also gave special thanks to country pop singer Taylor Swift for convincing her to release ‘Super Bass’ as a single.

 The American Music Awards also saw the likes of Adele, Bruno Mars and Rihanna walk away with various prizes.
