Nelly Furtado: "Will.I.Am Is The Reason Music Sounds Like It Does Today" - Audio

The 'Big Hoops' singer tells Capital that she admires the Black Eyed Peas star's achievements.

Nelly Furtado has praised Will.i.am and said he is a "large reason" why music sounds like it does today.

The 'Big Hoops' singer took to the stage at the Isle of MTV alongside the Black Eyed Peas star earlier this week.

Speaking to Capital FM, Nelly said she was a big fan of Will and admired his achievements, including his current role as a judge on The Voice UK.

"Will.i.am is so creative. He's kept music going. He's a large reason why music sounds the way it does today - a very innovative producer. A great guy. Great dancer," she said.

"I've heard about his work on The Voice and how he's won over the entire nation and beyond, which I think his lovely. He's a superstar."

Both Nelly and Will.i.am are currently preparing for the release of their new albums - Nelly's 'The Spirit Indestructible' is due out in September while Will.i.am's '#willpower' has yet to be handed a release date.

MTV's Isle Of MTV Malta special will be shown later this summer.
