The rapper confirms that the group are currently on "hiatus" and have plans to work on new material next year.

N-Dubz star Fazer has revealed that the group have not split up and have plans to record a new album together.

The 'Playing With Fire' rapper spoke to MTV UK about the group's current situation admitting that they are only on hiatus to take some time to work on new projects.

He said: "We are on hiatus, we're all good. We are just taking some time out. Then we will come back collectively next year to record another N-Dubz album."

The star took the time to explain the reasoning behind the break confessing they want to be able to build up their own personal fan bases.

"In the last four or five years, I don't think there has been a period for more than a month when we haven’t been on TV, had a video out, a single out, an album out, our own TV show – we've been dominating the TV and the media for the last four years.

"The only thing for us is to keep our fan base going and to keep people excited about the whole N-Dubz thing, so we thought take a break, give people a chance to breathe but at the same time, don't give them a chance to breathe.

"Tulisa has been killing it on The X Factor, Dappy has been killing it with his solo records and I’ll be doing the same this year, so it gives everyone a chance to capitalise on their own fan bases as well as the N-Dubz one."

The star, who recently split up with girlfriend and band member Tulisa, also confirmed that he is still working on the X Factor judge's debut record

Meanwhile, Dappy will release his new single 'Rockstar' - featuring Queen guitarist Brian May on 26th February and is readying his debut solo album 'No Regrets' for an April unveiling.
