The 'I Need You' rapper has recorded a reworking of a classic song by The Police frontman.

N-Dubz rapper Fazer has reportedly convinced Sting to let him cover the singer’s 1988 track “Englishman In New York”.

The 'I Need You' rapper is currently working on his first material as a solo artist and is said to be “chuffed” the former Police frontman has given him permission to release the reworking.

“Fazer loves Sting and that tune in particular,” a source told The Sun this week. “He’s been working with it in the studio and has given it a brilliant overhaul.

“What started as a bit of messing around has ended up as a track he wants out there.”

Fazer is also hoping to work with Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger at some point in the future.

Last week Fazer revealed he has been tapped to produce music for the eventual winner of this year’s The X Factor.

N-Dubz will release an 18-track collection of their greatest hits on 28th November.
