The 'Wrecking Ball' singer will host the show two days before her album 'Bangerz' is released.

Miley Cyrus has been announced as the guest host for an episode of Saturday Night Live next month.

The 'We Can't Stop' singer will step in to host the 5th October episode of the long-running US sketch show, as both host and musical guest on the evening in question.

Miley's role on SNL follows her monumental success and popularity over the course of this year, from her huge hit single 'We Can't Stop' to her highly controversial performance at the MTV VMAs 2013.

October marks Miley's second stint hosting Saturday Night Live, after also doing so back in March 2011.

It has also been announced that Katy Perry will be the musical guest on SNL on 12th October, when Hollywood A-lister Bruce Willis steps in to host.
