The 'Moves Like Jagger' singer says he is looking forward to making his acting debut in the horror series.

Adam Levine has confirmed he will star in the second season of the critically acclaimed FX horror series American Horror Story.

The Voice US vocal coach was rumoured to have joined the show's cast back in March, and has confirmed he will feature on the series when it returns for its second run later this year.

"It is the truth," Adam revealed to E! Online this week. "I mean, it's pretty much happening. I think it's happening.

"I don't know how much I can divulge, because Ryan [Murphy] is very under wraps," the Maroon 5 frontman teased "It's going to be fun.

"I told [Ryan] I really didn't know what I was doing but he didn't seem to really care. So I'm just going to go and try acting.

The 'Moves Like Jagger' singer added: I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy.

The second season of American Horror Story will see the show follow a brand new storyline although first season cast members Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto are all expected to return with brand new roles.

Maroon 5 are currently preparing for the release of their fourth studio album 'Overexposed', which is expected to launch in June.
