The 'Hero' singer is recording her thirteenth studio album after taking time off to start a family.
Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon has revealed the singer has started working on a new album.
The 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' singer gave birth to the couple's first children back in April 2011, and is now working on the follow-up to her last release, 2009's 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel'.
"My beautiful wife is planning to make her return to the music scene after taking time off to focus on the pregnancy and the birth of our two wonderful babies, Moroccan and Monroe," Nick posted on his official website earlier today (30th January).
"She's rejuvenated and ready to start sharing some of the amazing new music she has been making in the studio!" he explained. "Our new family has definitely given her a great new source of inspiration and creativity."
Nick added. "I'm so proud of her and can't wait for her to release more phenomenal music!"
Earlier this month Nick Cannon was hospitalized after suffering "mild kidney failure", and Mariah gave fans several updates on his condition throughout his hospital stay.
