A number of stars have been mourning the death of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor.
"Wow . Just found out Elizabeth Taylor has passed away. So so sad. May she rest in perfect peace x" tweeted Alexandra Burke.
Meanwhile Katy Perry revealed an interesting link with the star, @katyperry:R.I.P #LIZ. Incidentally I had the pleasure of staying in a room where she got the call (in the bath)that she was going to star in cleopatra!
Nikki Minaj added, "Elizabeth Taylor...Rest In Peace Beautiful Lady..."
George Michael tweeted: "Elizabeth Taylor was the last of the Hollywood greats, and a fantastically charming woman."
Sir Elton John, who shared a long-held passion with the actress for research into Aids and HIV, said: "We have just lost a Hollywood giant.
"More importantly, we have lost an incredible human being."
"It's the end of an era. It wasn't just her beauty or her stardom. It was her humanitarianism. She put a face on HIV/Aids," singer Barbra Streisand said.
Elizabeth Taylor passed away, aged 79 after suffering complications from congestive heart failure.
