Max flew out to Mexico to catch up with 'Wide Awake' singer Katy Perry ahead of the release of 'The Smurfs 2' film in which she voices the character Smurfette.

The 28-year-old star described her recent acting experiences as "a bit of a challenge" in comparison to her music career, but admitted it was good way to "test the water on having a film career."

During the interview the Capital FM fan denied fan speculation that the film's track 'Double Rainbow' would act as her next single, however Perry did confirm that she was well underway with work on her new album.

Earlier this week the 'California Gurls' star unveiled a brand new promotional poster for her latest fragrance Killer Queen ahead of its launch next month. Her latest film 'The Smurfs 2' is released in UK cinemas on Wednesday (31st July).
