The 'Lay It On Me' singer says The Help star "truly" deserved her Academy Award win.

Katy Perry and Kelly Rowland are just some of the artists who have paid tribute to actress Octavia Spencer following her win at the Academy Awards last night (26^th February). 

The 38 year-old actress picked up the awards for Best Supporting Actress at yesterday's Oscars ceremony for her role as opinionated maid Minny in the 2011 film The Help.

"Congratulations to @Octavia Spencer for her Oscar win!" 'Down For Whatever' singer Kelly Rowland tweeted last night. "You truly deserve it! God Bless!"

'Firework' singer Katy also paid tribute to the actress when she posted the simply tweet "#OCTAVIA" after the awards show.

Katy was later pictured at an Oscars after show party posing with Uggie the dog, who stars in multiple Academy Award winning film The Artist.
