A woman claiming to be the half-sister of pop star Katy has attacked her father for not raising her.

Katy Perry's alleged half-sister has criticised the pop star's father for "abandoning" her as a child.

43 year-old Jodi Hudson has made claims in the press she is the half-sister of 'Teenage Dream' singer Katy, from her father Keith Hudson's first marriage, and has hit out at the pastor over an online video in which he urges parents not to "close the door on your children".

"This man is preaching something he should have done himself," Jodi revealed to America's Star magazine. "I broke down when I saw that video.

"He completely abandoned me when I was a child and has had almost nothing to do with me throughout my life."

The sensational claims by Jodi go on to say that she remembers spending one night in her younger days when future pop star Katy was just a child.

She added: "I spent a night in my father's house in Santa Barbara when Katy was about four or five. I didn't know what a father was."

Katy Perry and her family have yet to make any comment on Jodi Hudson's claims of familial ties, although the latter has claimed to have legal proof of the divorce between her mother and Katy's father Keith.

Katy Perry is currently working on her third studio album, the follow-up to 2010's 'Teenage Dream', and recently reunited with her regular songwriting collaborators Greg Wells and Bonnie McKee.
