Katy Perry Wears American Flag Dress For Fleet Week Event In New York

The 'Firework' singer donned a patriotic outfit as she performed for sailors as part of the American traditional celebration.

Katy Perry took to the stage at the Brooklyn Waterfront in New York yesterday (23rd May) to perform at the US traditional Fleet Week event wearing an American flag dress.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer was performing at the celebration show which takes place each year and sees military ships dock in a variety of major cities for seven days to allow the crews to see the sights.

Before her rendition of her single 'Part Of Me' at the show, the star took to her Twitter account to reveal that she was prepared to put one a fantastic performance.

"Sea men dock their vessels in the great city of NYC to experience the land from whence they came. I'm about to give them a show! #fleetweek," she tweeted.

Meanwhile, the singer is currently preparing to unveil her debut 3D concert movie this summer which is expected to reveal details on her marriage breakdown to Russell Brand.

The American star recently sat on the sofa with Ellen DeGeneres to explain the movie will "show everything" and in a "tasteful" manner.

Katy will also be heading to Wembley Stadium next month for Capital FM's Summertime Ball 2012 next month to perform alongside the likes of Usher, Flo Rida and Coldplay.
