The 'Boyfriend' singer was told the UK boy band "have his back" over a recent string of bad press.

Justin Bieber has thanked One Direction for their words of support about his altercation with the paparazzi last week during his stay in the UK.

The 'As Long As You Love Me' singer was filmed having a confrontation with a photographer at the end of last week, during the final days of his 'Believe' UK tour, and has since received messages of support from a number of other stars.

Among Justin's pop star supporters were One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, who both tweeted to say they have "got" Justin's back on this one.

"Although I don't know him personally, I do wish the press would take it easy on @JustinBieber," Louis tweeted over the weekend. "I really do empathise with him, I don't see anything out of character I'm comparison to any other teenagers I know.

"@Louis_Tomlinson what a dude man :D ha got your back bro!! @JustinBieber," Zayn Malik also posted.

The 'Live While We're Young' singers late received a reply from Justin himself thanking them for the messages.

"@zaynmalik @Louis_Tomlinson thanks fella.s all good over here. much appreciated," Justin tweeted.
