Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj were the big winners at the American Music Awards 2012 last night with several awards apiece, and the two both performed live at the star-studded affair as well as teaming up for a duet of their new single.
Canadian singer Justin won the highly coveted Artist Of The Year award yesterday (18th November) in Los Angeles, and brought his mother Pattie Malette up on stage with him to celebrate the win, telling the audience he wanted to thank her for "always believing in me".
'Boyfriend' singer Justin also picked up both Pop/Rock Male Artist and Pop/Rock Album for his latest release 'Believe', and dedicated the former to "all the haters" who hadn't thought his music career would last.
Justin performed at the American Music Awards on Sunday when he gave an acoustic performance of recent single 'As Long As You Love Me', before being joined on stage by 'Va Va Voom' rapper Nicki Minaj for a duet of 'Beauty And A Beat'.
Nicki also performed separately on the night when she want new release 'Freedom', as well as picking up both Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Rap/Hip-Hop Album for 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded'.

Usher gave a memorable performance of hits including 'Climax' and 'Numb' to open up the awards show, while Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepsen and Taylor Swift also performed, with the latter singing new album track 'I Knew You Were Trouble'.
Other winners at this year's awards show included Carly Rae Jepsen for New Artist Of The Year, Katy Perry for Pop/Rock Female Artist, Maroon 5 for Pop/Rock Band, Duo Or Group and Adele for Adult Contemporary Artist.
Highlights at the American Music Awards 2012 included The Voice US judge Christina Aguilera and 'Dark Side' singer Kelly Clarkson each performing a medley of hits, Ke$ha performing her new single 'Die Young', and PSY teaming up with 'Can't Touch This' rapper MC Hammer for a duet of 'Gangnam Style'.
