The LA Galaxy star admits he wouldn't be happy with just coaching the Canadian singer's celebrity squad.

David Beckham has revealed that he wouldn't be happy with just coaching Justin Bieber's proposed star-studded footballer team – he wants to play himself.

Last month, the teen star revealed that he was hoping to put together a celebrity squad with the likes of One Direction in an attempt to rival Robbie Williams' Los Angeles team.

Justin said: "There's only one guy we want to coach the team and that is David Beckham."

However, David told The Sun that he would love to join the team in a star role.

"Would I want to be the coach? I'd want to play," he confessed.

The 'Never Say never' star revealed his plans last month, and admitted he would love to ask David's wife Victoria and his own girlfriend Selena Gomez to be cheerleaders for the team.

The Canadian is a big football fan and enjoyed a trip to see the Chelsea footballer squad back in late 2011 where he was seen having a kick-a-bout with the likes of Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres.

Meanwhile, the 'As Long As You Love Me' star is preparing to head out on his new 'Believe' world tour and recently launched a campaign to find backing dancers for the jaunt.
