JLS say they have written an "uplifting" single to promote next year's 2012 Olympics.

JLS have reportedly been lined up to sing the official song for the London 2012 Olympics.

Band member Oritsé Williams revealed the group have already penned a track to promote next year's event.

"I'm not supposed to say anything right now but we have written a song and are talking to people about it being the Olympic theme," he told People. "It is perfect, we were asked to do it.

"The song is uplifting, it's kind of along the lines of R Kelly's 'I Believe I Can Fly'."

Oritsé said the band have been working alongside producer Ali Tennant on the track, who he described as "brilliant".

JLS are scheduled to perform alongside One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Tulisa Contostavlos at this month's Children in Need charity event.

This weekend JLS were announced as one of the top acts performing on the Sunday of this year's Jingle Bell Ball in December.

JLS released new single 'Take A Chance On Me' this week and will release their third studio album Jukebox on 11th November.
