The Neptunes star opens up about the pair's time in the studio.
Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams are currently working on "something crazy" according to the N*E*R*D star.
Pharrell caught up with MTV recently to talk about Jay's new projects and the possibility of a new album from the rapper.
He said: "We're working on something, it's crazy."
The duo have collaborated numerous times in the past including most recently on 'Glory' – a dedication track to the rapper and wife Beyonce's baby daughter Blue Ivy.
Pharrell went on to add: "Well, you know, he's [Jay] very discreet about details and stuff. I'm just a filmmaker, musically. I let everybody else play the roles."
Back in December, it was rumoured that the rapper and Kanye West - who teamed up on 2011's 'Watch The Throne' - could put out three new records in 2012.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z and Beyonce recently unveiled the first pictures of Blue Ivy after creating a Tumblr account for their new addition in order to share their photos with the world.
