Girls Aloud Fans "Gutted" After Band Confirm They Have Split Up

The 'Love Machine' star's followers have been taking to Twitter to offer their thoughts on the news.

Girls Aloud fans have been taking to Twitter throughout the night to express their sadness after the group confirmed they were to split.

The 'Sound Of The Underground' stars performed the final 'Ten' reunion tour show in Liverpool yesterday (20th March) and shortly after released a statement confirming the news.

Fans had been speculating throughout the day weather the show would be the girls' final with Cheryl sending cryptic Twitter messages to her fans.

The statement from the band said: "Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots."

Fans have been speaking about how "gutted" they are and left in tears on the social networking account.

The group got back together to celebrate ten years since they formed at the end of 2012 and release a greatest hits compilation – complete with two new tracks.

Their tenth anniversary reunion tour saw them play 20 shows including dates at London's O2 Arena and starting things in Cheryl's hometown of Newcastle.
