Fun Narrowly Beat The Wanted To Score Vodafone Big Top 40 With 'We Are Young'

The American stars edged out the British boy band to end Rita Ora's chart reign with their latest release.

Fun have been announced as the new Vodafone Big Top 40 number one with their smash hit single 'We Are Young'.

The American three-piece's Janelle Monae track ended Rita Ora's two-week reign at the summit after she dropped three places to number four with the Tinie Tempah featuring 'R.I.P'.

The Wanted's Example penned new single 'Chasing The Sun' was the highest new entry at number two despite only going on sale today (20th May).

Elsewhere on the chart, there were new entries from Emeli Sande with her latest single 'My Kind Of Love' breaking into the top 20 at number 19 and D'Banj taking the tenth spot with his single 'Oliver Twist'.

The Vodafone Big Top 40 with Rich and Kat airs every Sunday from 4-7pm.
