V Festival Line Up

Rihanna has been added to the bill for this year's V Festival.

Rihanna will be joined by the likes of Eminem, Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Olly Murs, Chase and Status and Irish rockers The Script.

The event takes place on August 20th and 21st and is split over two sites, Weston Park in Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex.

The Script's Danny O'Donoghue said: "V Festival was our first ever UK show three years ago. It was a baptism of fire but we survived it. We love to play V; it's a real party for both festival-goers and bands. We can't wait for it."

The festival's in its 16th year and Festival Director Bob Angus said: "The breadth of accomplished talent performing throughout the weekend on the other stages is also something that we are very proud of with heavyweight acts including Dizzee Rascal, Razorlight, Chase and Status and Duran Duran joining the party."

Organisers said they were trying to make the festival more luxurious this year by setting up ready-built yurts and pop-up hotel rooms for accommodation.

Festival Director Simon Moran said: "It's fantastic to be able to introduce V Style this year. We hope that the lure of luxury camping will add that little extra something to music fans who love live performances and a festival atmosphere, but aren't always as keen on roughing it."

More acts will be announced at a later date.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 4th March at 9am.
