Emeli Sande: The X Factor Can Be 'Quite Dangerous'

Emeli Sande has admitted she is not a big fan of The X Factor, despite performing on last weekend's edition of the programme.

The 'Heaven' singer joined Professor Green on Sunday's show (23rd October) to perform their new single 'Read All About It'.

In an interview with the Evening Standard, Emeli said that even though she appeared on the show, she didn't really keep up with the latest gossip around programme.

"I think it's quite a dangerous way to become a pop star. It's brilliant that it's brought us people like Leona [Lewis] and Alexandra [Burke] - it is so hard to get heard in this industry," she said.

"But I always felt sad when I watched it when I was younger - all those dreams being crushed by four judges. I think the long way is the best."

'Read All About It' is currently at number one on The Vodafone Big Top 40.
