The 'Daddy' singer has been congratulated by the 'Fallin' singer since winning the coveted BRITs prize.

Emeli Sande has revealed that Alicia Keys offered her congratulations after her BRIT Awards 2012 Critics Choice Award victory.

The 'Heaven' singer was announced as this year's recipient of the award back in December, and Emeli says the 'No One' singer has been in touch with her since the win.

"I emailed her when I found out, because she' been a great source of inspiration and given me a lot of advice," Emeli told the Daily Star this week. "She congratulated me and said how exciting it was."

The Scottish singer worked with Alicia Keys in 2011 while preparing tracks for her upcoming debut album 'Our Version Of Events'.

Emeli accepted her Critics Choice gong at the BRIT Awards nominations party in London last week (12th January) from previous recipient Jessie J, and the 'Daddy' singer was also nomination for Best British Breakthrough at the event.

Emeli Sande's album 'Our Version Of Events' is due to be released on 13th February.
